Your first beat

In the browser demo, press Play and tap the squares to change the drum pattern. Keys opens the synth sequence. Mixer lets you adjust or mute each sound. Save WAV downloads four bars of your beat.

The demo keeps changes in the current tab. Download a WAV before refreshing or leaving if you want to keep the result.

Getting around the app

Press Play to hear the demo project. Select a drum track to edit its pattern, or a synth track to open the piano roll. On iPhone, use Arrange, Editor and Mixer to switch screens. On iPad, drag the divider to resize the editor.

Saving and exporting

The native app saves project edits automatically on your device. Open Projects to start a project or return to a saved one. Choose Export WAV from the project actions menu to save or share a mix outside Beatlab.

Keep separate copies of recordings you would not want to lose. Deleting the app can remove its local projects.

Recording with your microphone

Tap Record and allow microphone access. Tap Stop when you finish. Headphones help keep speaker playback out of your recording. If you denied permission, enable microphone access for Beatlab in your device settings.

The browser playground does not record from your microphone.

Importing audio

Choose Import Audio in the project actions menu. Beatlab copies the file into your project. Audio clips play at their original speed; changing the project tempo does not stretch them.

If a take does not save

Keep the app open. In the audio editor, choose Retry Save or Save Original Take. Save a copy before discarding a recording you want to keep.

No sound in the browser?

Press Play to start audio, then check your device volume and output. Try a recent version of Safari, Chrome or Firefox. Playback stops when the tab is hidden; press Play when you return.

Purchases
