Install once

1. Download the Apple silicon DMG and open it.
2. Drag Beatlab into Applications.
3. Eject the disk image, then open Beatlab from Applications.

Your account

This first Mac download uses a Beatlab username and password. Studio access is currently limited to approved accounts. Creating an account does not unlock the studio. You can browse the community without studio access.

Purchases and native Apple sign-in are not available in this download. The App Store edition will offer the monthly subscription when it launches.

Updates come to you

Beatlab checks for updates automatically. A notice in the corner tells you when one is ready. Choose Update & Restart when you’re finished recording, or keep working and let it install when you quit. Your projects stay on your Mac.

You can also choose Beatlab → Check for Updates. You won’t need to download and install a new DMG each time. Automatic downloads can be changed in the update window.

Keeping your music

The website download stores projects separately from the App Store edition. Updating this download keeps its projects. Back up any music you want to move between editions; signing in does not sync projects.

Intel Mac and Windows installers are not available yet. Windows with Electron is planned after this Mac release.
